The darkness seems to prevail. Our country is churning in tears, anger, sorrow and loss for so many different reasons. It is evil. It is what God knew and saw when Adam sinned. When Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble.” He was simply stating a fact. He said those words facing the cross and because of what he did, evil is not the whole story. The answer to this darkness will not come from our words; it will be achieved by Jesus’ spirit within us, doing his will… establishing righteousness. So I will leave you to consider these words from the Psalmist as a comfort and a guide for the days ahead.
Oh, let the evil of the wicked come to an end, and may you establish the righteous— you who test the minds and hearts, O righteous God!
My shield is with God, who saves the upright in heart.
God is a righteous judge and a God who feels indignation every day.
Psalm 7:9-11 (ESV)
