The Psalmist eloquently reveals deep faith, deep insight, and deep conviction in this song.  With complete certainty he affirms that God is the creator. What God created by the word of his mouth is majestic, astounding!  The sun, rather than a phenomenon to be worshipped, reveals God’s fingerprints.. 

Then he reasons that the law, and commandments of the Lord are perfect.  They warm our hearts, they light up our understanding.  His revelation gives us everything we need to know. 

The thing we need to know first is that we are unclean and imperfect.  What we need to do first, is acknowledge that God created us to worship him.  Our greatest desire should be to please him, and that begins with worship.

God, you are here. I am not alone. “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.”

God, you have allowed me to know you and I will not fear. “The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; “the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart;”

God, you know me and you still love me. “Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me! Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression.”

God, You alone are worthy. No matter what, let my life bring glory and honor to you.
